W Douglas Weaver

W Douglas Weaver, MD, is President Elect of the American College of Cardiology (ACC). He is also Division Head of Cardiology and Co-Director of the Heart and Vascular Institute at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan, and a Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University. Dr Weaver chairs the Finance Committee of the Henry Ford Medical Croup and co-directs its Academic Research Co-ordinating Center. He has published over 300 articles and has a particular interest in the conduct of multicenter clinical trials. He received his BA from the University of Maine, Orono, his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, and his post-graduate training at the University of Washington.
