Overview
The conference sessions aim to educate interventionalists and allied healthcare professionals on the practical implications of the latest clinical data, device selection and procedural strategies impacting optimum patient care. To further illustrate this, the event will feature a number of practical demonstrations in the form of live cases broadcast from the Thoraxcenter, Erasmus, Rotterdam, interspersed with a panel debate session. This year, registration for JIM 2021 will be free of charge.

Faculty Biographies
Nicolas M Van Mieghem
Dr Nicolas M Van Mieghem obtained his medical degree and cardiology degree at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. After subsequent fellowships in interventional cardiology in Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg Genk, Belgium, Lenox Hill Hospital, New York, US and Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, he joined the department of interventional cardiology at the Thoraxcenter, Erasmus Medical Center, as a senior staff member in February 2010.
He is involved in the percutaneous coronary interventions and structural heart program. He obtained the degree of PhD based upon his research in transcatheter valve therapies. So far he has published and co-authored approximately 130 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr Van Mieghem is principle investigator and steering committee member in multiple ongoing international trials evaluating various coronary and transcatheter valve technologies. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and is currently Medical Director of the department of Interventional cardiology at the Thoraxcenter.
Antonio Colombo
Director, Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Cardiology Unit, EMO GVM Centro Cuore, Columbus and San Raffaele Hospital, Milan, Italy, Visiting Professor of Medicine, Columbia Medical Center.
Dr Colombo pioneered the concept of adequate stent deployment during coronary interventions, and he defined the role of intravascular ultrasound in this setting. Dr Colombo is very active in multiple medical societies, including the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Medical Association. Dr Colombo obtained his MD from the University of Milan School of Medicine in 1975.
Eberhard Grube
Dr Eberhard Grube is Professor of Medicine, Chief of the Department of Cardiology and Angiology at University Hospital Bonn, Germany and Consulting Professor, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Azeem Latib
Dr Latib is Associate Professor at Department of Cardiology, Montefiore Medical Center, New York, NY, US.
He is also senior lecturer at Dipartimento Cardio-Toraco-Vascolare, Ospedale di San Raffaele Istituto di Ricovero e Cura a Carattere Scientifico.
Azeem does research in Cardiology and Medicine. Their current project is 'Bioresorbable coronay scaffolds and Vascular reparative therapy.'
