Patients with AF have an increased risk of dementia and clinical stroke. Dr David Conen (Mcmaster University, Hamilton, ON, CA) discusses the results of this large cohort study aimed at investigating if dementia can be mitigated using novel oral anticoagulation (OAC). He also sheds light on what further studies are needed in follow-up to these results.
