Overview
Rhythm Interventions Online (RIO) is a new innovative virtual event that brought together a leading international faculty to create a rich, interactive experience to best inform the global electrophysiology community of the latest developments and advances in clinical practice.
Led by Course Director, Prof Richard Schilling, Barts Heart Centre, London, and delivered through a crafted programme of discussion, opinion, and live cases from leading international centres, RIO's programme comprised twelve hours of best-in-class learning over three days, in addition to symposia and breakout sessions.
Note, the live version of this session was CME accredited; this on-demand version is not.

KR Julian Chun
Associate Professor
Dr. Chun is heading the electrophysiology section at CCB, Markus Krankenhaus in Frankfurt, Germany. He has been trained at the University of Lübeck and St. Georg Hospital, Hamburg, Germany. Since October 2011 he is a member of the Nucleus and Treasurer of the Arrhythmia Working Group at the German Cardiac Society. He is a faculty member at the University of Lübeck, Germany.
Carina Blomström-Lundqvist
Professor of Cardiology
Dr Carina Blomström-Lundqvist is Professor of Cardiology at the Department of Cardiology, Institution of Medical Science, Uppsala, Sweden.
Dr Blomström-Lundqvist graduated in medicine in 1976, she went on to specialize in cardiology and internal medicine, and started research on haemodynamics and myocardial metabolism in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy. With the developments in electrophysiology she switched her research interest towards arrhythmias and after 3 years she defended her PhD thesis on the diagnostic and prognostic implications of arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia in 1987 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
At Uppsala, Dr Blomström-Lundqvist has become research leader for the arrhythmia unit, mainly focusing on research related to atrial fibrillation (AF). In collaboration with the Department of Thoracic Surgery, procedures for Maze surgery followed by thoracoscopy epicardial atrial fibrillation ablations were initiated.
Dr Blomström-Lundqvist has…
Mattias Duytschaever
Dr Mattias Duytschaever obtained his medical degree in 1995 from the University of Ghent and conducted research for his PhD into the role of atrial electrical remodeling in the management of atrial fibrillation , at the University of Maastricht, The Netherlands.
Dr Duytschaever completed his training in cardiology at the Academic Hospital Ghent, Belgium, from 2000 to 2002, and became Professor in Electrophysiology at the University of Ghent in 2003. Since 2006, he has been conducting diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology at the Department of Electrophysiology at St Jan Hospital Bruges, Belgium, still providing his services as Professor in Electrophysiology at the University of Ghent.
